Welcome to the Third Trimester

I seriously cannot believe that I am now in my third trimester. Actually, I can believe it – because literally the DAY I started the third trimester I went from feeling pretty much awesome and invincible to overwhelmingly tired, achy and emotional. How cliche.

On Saturday I was still feeling really great. I went with Margie to Babies r Us (we were trying to get her into labor by shopping – that induces labor right?) and we used a bunch of sales and coupons to get the following loot. I paid for two packs of diapers and got the following completely FREE (I love coupons!):

2 Similac bottles

1 Playtex bottle drying rack (to be fair, I won this in a raffle, not with coupons)

2 adorable outfits for my nephew (due this August)

1 pair of yellow and grey sweatpants for baby Richards

1 romper/dress for baby Richards

1 pair of the cutest baby leggings ever made (also for baby Richards, but I wish they came in my size)

Also on Saturday I cleaned the entire house AND went grocery shopping. SUPER WOMAN.

By Sunday I was functioning on such a low level I’m not sure I actually existed. My goal was to help Dan rake the yard, but by 10am I was already down for my first nap. I took another at 1pm, and another at 430. I was in bed by 830. I did manage to rake about 10 square feet of our 1acre yard. To be fair, it’s probably because my stomach currently looks like this:

I know. WHOA.

Also, like this:

27 weeks - baby is the size of a rutabaga (whatever that is)

In other news – last week I promised a follow up on my new job, so here’s the deal: About a month ago I was approached by my boss about moving from copywriter (my current job) to marketing and social media strategist and account manager. I’m really excited about the move because while it means less writing, it also opens a lot of doors in terms of “moving up the ladder” within the company, and increasing my earning potential. I’ve always been interested in marketing and social media strategy, so it’s really great to have Ethos invest in teaching/training me to pursue this. So that’s that. I am beginning training now, and will start working with my first account June 1st. Hoping to get acclimated before I go on maternity leave so that the transition back to work isn’t so crazy!

Other than that, not too much news this week. Just sitting around waiting for little Charlotte (Margie’s baby) to finally be born. She’s now 3 days overdue and estimated at almost 9lbs so she really needs to come out already!!

Here’s this week’s chart:

How far along? 27 weeks (90 days to go!)

Total weight gain: 17lbs (another 1.5 pounds this week, agh!)
Maternity clothes?  oh yes
Stretch marks? thankfully not yet
Sleep: eh…getting really sore hips
Best moment this week: getting free stuff at Babies r Us
Miss Anything? having a normal amount of energy
Movement: lots and I love it (except when she kicks me in the ribs)
Food cravings: raisin bran crunch cereal, smoothies
Anything making you queasy or sick: fish
Gender: It’s a girl!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: heartburn, cramping, tiredness

Belly Button in or out? in still, but getting much flatter

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy, ready for spring!
Looking forward to: Margie’s baby Charlotte being born!
