How far along? 19 (and a half) weeks
Total weight gain: 5lbs
Maternity clothes? for the next year or so probably
Sleep: was going well until Mia’s baby monitor broke and since we can’t really hear her from our room without it I now wake up every hour hearing fantasy baby cries. Please tell me this is a mom thing and not a crazy person thing.
Best moment this week: Mia saying “I love you, Mommy – goodnight!” She is becoming such a real person it’s ridiculous. Runner Up: The ultrasound tech referred to me as “petite.” That was my biggest takeaway from the entire appointment 😉
Miss Anything? feeling comfortable in jeans – or really just pants in general.
Movement: so much. even the ultrasound tech called baby a “serious wiggler.”
Food cravings: Same as last week, coffee and apple crisp (not together, although I’m not opposed to it)
Anything making you queasy or sick: the fact that everyone at my work and Mia’s daycare is sick. Just waiting for the fall out…
Labor Signs: nada
Symptoms: tired, hungry and tired.
Belly Button in or out? In, for now.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: busy.
Looking forward to: spring 😉
Gender: It’s a…nother 3 weeks of waiting. Agh! Baby is already following in the family tradition of being relentlessly stubborn, and despite all kinds of poking and podding and turning me upside down, baby refused to cooperate with the ultrasound tech. The tech did say that she was “pretty sure” it’s a girl, due to a lack of “external plumbing” but she couldn’t say it with 100% certainty. Greaaaaaaaaat. Just what a type A person like me wants to hear.
Anyway, the (sort of?) good news is that since she wasn’t able to get all the important images she needed (heart, brain, etc.) I have to go back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound, in which they promised to double check the gender.
So, officially, we have to wait. Unofficially – I’m going with girl and AM SO EXCITED! So happy that all of Mia’s overpriced shoes, headbands and other fashion items will have a second life – oh – and that Mia will have a sister of course 🙂 Hurray!
