I wanted to write one last blog post before I have a toddler and a baby and no time to do anything besides change diapers, pee-soaked undies and nursing bras – but it looks like that’s not gonna happen (unless Lucy decides to come LATE and she better not) so here’s a quick 39-week update. Hopefully this is the last update before baby…but…lets be real. It probably won’t be. PREGNANT SIGH.
How far along? 39 weeks
Total weight gain: 28 pounds
Maternity clothes? I literally had to change out of my yoga pants yesterday because they were too tight. #fml
Sleep: in small increments, in between peeing, trying to roll over, peeing, listening to mia cough, peeing, and trying to breath through my nose.
Best moment this week: Mia pooping on the potty (after being bribed with a lollipop) and then going pee on the potty ALL BY HERSELF after gymnastics class the next day. New leaf?
Miss Anything? being in control of my own body.
Movement: not as much as the past few months since Lucy has navigated all the way into my pelvis – but still feeling LOTS of pressure from her head down low, and also her bum against the front of my belly. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which pains are contractions and which are just Lucy trying to break my ribs.
Food cravings: not really – but I’m taking full advantage of my last few days drinking McDonalds milkshakes without any guilt.
Anything making you queasy or sick: eating…because there’s nowhere for it to go. This must be what it feels like to have your stomach stapled.
Labor Signs: still 2cm dilated, and now 50% effaced as well. Doc says Lucy is “fully engaged” which is a nice way of saying she has her head wedged so far into my pelvis I can barely walk.
Symptoms: Lots of Braxton Hicks and sporadic contractions but nothing consistent yet. #TimeToComeOut
Belly Button in or out? all the way out
Wedding rings on or off? They still fit but I took them off last week to have them cleaned and inspected and haven’t put them back on since. They look so pretty all shined up!
Happy or Moody most of the time: moody…uncomfortable, still battling a relentless cold, and dealing with a 2.5 year old that spends more time whining than breathing. I am SO ready to be done being pregnant, but so NOT ready for 2 kids.
Looking forward to: Meeting baby Lucy! Mia says she’s coming on Friday…so we’ll see if her intuition is right 🙂
